Can't See Without You - Mixed on Canvas - This painting is about grief and the strange feeling of losing someone who was part of how you experienced the world. The black band covering her eyes represents the uncertainty that comes with loss; suddenly, you can't see where you're going, or what life is supposed to look like without them. She is holding someone she loves close, almost as if she is trying to protect the last thing that makes her feel safe. I painted this during a time when I was grieving, when everything felt unclear, but holding on to the memories of the ones I loved was the only thing that made sense.

Can't See Without You is about that kind of love, the kind that stays with you even after someone is gone.
